Skip Counting (Multiplication Strategy) Sorting Activity

Students will love practicing their skip counting and multiplying skills while playing this fun sorting card game.

Use this set as a Math center or other small group activity, or add it to your collection of games for free-choice activities or indoor recess.

• sorting game boards for 2 players or 2 teams (green and pink)
• 16 number sequence cards
• an answer key

How to Play this Skip Counting Sorting Activity

1. Begin by placing the larger cards side by side in order: 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s. You will be sorting the cards based on how they are counted.
2. Player 1 is pink background; Player 2 is green background
3. Player 1 draws a card
4. Player 1 determines what the card is counting by: 1s, 2s, 5s, or 10s
5. If Player 1 is correct, they put the card in the correct column on THEIR color cards
6. If Player 1 is incorrect, they put the card back into the deck.
7. Player 2 draws a card and repeats steps 3-6
8. Play continues until one of the players’ boards are full with 4 cards each.
