Valentine’s Day Math – Counting Activities for Preschoolers and Kindergartners

Are you on the hunt for fun Valentine’s Day activities for preschoolers and kindergarteners? We’ve got a fun memory game to help your students fall in love with math and one-to-one correspondence. This hands-on activity resource will have students look at and count groups of objects up to twenty.

How to Play our Valentine’s Day Math Game

Memory is a game that’s easy to pick up but hard to put down.

It’s simple: Turn all the cards face down. Then, flip over two cards and try to match the pictures and numbers. If they match, keep them! If not, turn them back over and continue playing until all the cards are matched. The first player to find all their matches wins!

With this resource download, students will celebrate Valentine’s Day and develop their counting and number recognition skills.

Skip Valentine’s Day Worksheets…Try Task Cards Instead!

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your math lessons.

In addition to individual student work time, use this dinosaur math activity to enhance learning through small groups or whole class lessons.

If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:

🆘 Support Struggling Students

Help students who need support by inviting them to reference posters or anchor charts from previous lessons. This activity can also be completed in a small group.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

For students who need a bit of a challenge, encourage them to create their own clip cards or flash cards by drawing objects to count.

Hi Randi! Do you have cards for the numbers and pictures for 5, 6, 15, and 16? Those number and picture cards are not in this set and I'd love to complete this cute set! Thank you!
