Rounding Games for Kids!

At Teach Starter, we understand the benefits of incorporating games into the math classroom. Sometimes, students need a little bit of competitiveness to bring some excitement into learning or reviewing a particular concept. Not only is it a great way to encourage active learning and critical thinking, but games can also be a way to reduce math anxiety and give students the time and space to practice a skill in a fun way.

Teach Starter has created a set of printable rounding games that your students can use in the classroom, take home to play with an adult or even use as an independent activity. This teacher-created resource comes with 7 different versions that can be used with 3rd, 4th or 5th grade students. Check out what is included in each version to find the perfect fit for your students!

  1. Rounding 3-digit numbers to the nearest ten or hundred
  2. Rounding 4-digit numbers to the nearest ten, hundred or thousand
  3. Rounding 5-digit numbers to the nearest ten, hundred, thousand, or ten thousand
  4. Rounding 6-digit numbers to the nearest ten, hundred, thousand, ten thousand or hundred thousand
  5. Rounding numbers written with 1 decimal place to the nearest whole number, ten or hundred
  6. Rounding numbers written with 2 decimal places to the nearest whole number, ten, or tenth
  7. Rounding numbers written with 3 decimal places to the nearest whole number, ten, hundred, tenth or hundredth

How To Play Our Roll and Round Game

Implementing this game in your classroom is quick and easy. Simply find the version you would like your students to work on and provide them with a die. Students will roll the die, draw it in the “Roll” column, look at the key to determine which place the round to and then write their answer in the “Answer” column.

The editable version allows you to change the numbers and/or place values to round to so you can continue to create different versions or a worksheet that best suits the needs of the students in your classroom.

Download, Print and Play!

Here you can choose from the quick-print PDF file or the editable Google Slides document. If selecting the Google Slides document, please note that you will first be prompted to make a copy of the resource to your personal drive before accessing it.
