🤖 Cute Simple Retelling Writing Template

This adorable robot-themed retelling writing template is the perfect activity to add to your collection of student activities to do during a teaching unit on retell. Your students will love cutting out and creating this robot while showing their comprehension of a simple text. While this robot craft will look super cute displayed in your classroom, students will still have to show their knowledge of the setting, characters, beginning, middle, and ending events of a story that has been read to them.

After reading a simple text to your students, provide each student with the retell category template from this resource only. Then, they will need to complete this before having fun creating their little robot character.

Simple Robot Stories for Kids

While you don’t have to read a story about robots to use this cute craft – there are certainly some options if you would like to link this craft activity to the character in a book. Here are some suggestions:

  • “Boy and Bot” by Ame Dyckman, illustrated by Dan Yaccarino.
  • “Stop! Bot!” by James Yang
  • “Rabbit and Robot” by Cece Bell
