Practice identifying problems and solutions with an interactive clip card activity.

Google Interactive Problem-Solution Clip Cards

Do you have trouble getting your students to identify the problem and solution in a story? We’ve been working hard to create the perfect resources to help you change your passive listeners into active readers! This resource is the perfect opportunity to encourage your students to think about what is happening in the story and not just read words without question.

This Google Interactive activity has students looking at images of problems as they happen. They must then click and drag an icon to identify the solution to the problem shown in the image.

Through this activity, students will be able to identify the problem and potential solutions in a fictional text or image.

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

🆘 Support Struggling Students

Encourage students to further their learning by explaining their reasoning.

Provide your students with a reference sheet or problem and solution anchor chart while completing the activity.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

Invite students to use a visual of story elements such as an anchor chart or classroom poster.

🧑‍🏫 Group Learning

Project the slides onto a screen and work through them as a class by having students record their answers in their notebooks or mini whiteboards.
