A worksheet to practice the addition strategy of making 10.

This worksheet is a great way for students to practice the addition strategy of making 10.

For this activity, it is best to use two-colored counters or two different colored connecting cubes so the students can visually see the two addends being put together. Using one of the colors, students count out the number shown in the number bond. Then, using the second color, the students add more counters to make 10. Finally, they will complete the number bond and equations using their objects.

Slip the sheet inside a dry-erase sleeve and use it as a math center activity.  Students will complete the worksheet using a dry-erase marker and then wipe it clean when they are done. Alternatively, project the worksheet on your dry-erase board and complete it together as a whole class.

An answer key is included in the download.
