Teaching Grammar Can Be Scary! We Can Help!

Spooky season is here again, and it’s time to dig into some sweet treats and a whole heap of grammar review. Getting in all those grammar lessons while keeping your students engaged can be challenging, but it can be done when you (pumpkin) spice things up a little!

Halloween is that time of the year when everything grim and spooky instantly catches children’s attention. Just the thought of trick-or-treating, monsters, and Halloween mayhem gets them excited to learn. That’s where we come in!

Cut and Paste the Spooky Abbreviations Worksheet

In this abbreviations activity, students will read a series of names, titles, etc. and determine the appropriate abbreviation that would be used to replace the underlined word in a sentence. We’ve included the following common abbreviations.

Sr. Dr. Mr. Ms. Oct.
Blvd. Jr. Hwy. Rd. St.

Through this activity, students will develop their skills in reading, writing, and using abbreviations.
