Create ordered pairs from an input-output table and determine the rule for each table with this worksheet.

Ordered Pairs Worksheet

Are your students beginning to explore ordered pairs? Ordered pairs are a group of two numbers together that represent locations on a coordinate plane. The first number in an ordered pair represents the x-coordinate value, while the second number represents the y-coordinate value. Ordered pairs are a fundamental aspect of coordinate graphing.

With this double-sided worksheet, students will complete a variety of input-output tables from ordered pairs and determine the rule for each. Additionally, students will use a given rule to complete an input-output table and write the corresponding ordered pairs

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

In addition to independent student work time, use this worksheet as an activity for:

  • Guided math groups
  • Lesson wrap-up
  • Fast finishers
  • Homework assignment
  • Whole-class review (via smartboard)

For fast finishers, students can create their own rules and then complete an input-output chart.

If there are some students who may need a bit of support, consider inviting them to reference previous anchor charts, assignments, or lesson material. Additionally, this activity can be completed in a 1-on-1 setting or with a small group.
