Interactive Maths Activities

Introducing our exciting and engaging set of interactive activities designed specifically for year 6 and 7 students! With a focus on converting between fractions and decimals, this comprehensive set of seven activities offers a dynamic and enjoyable learning experience.

Some of the activities included in this set of interactive slides are:

  • True or False Sort — In this activity, students will encounter a variety of equations involving fractions and decimals. Their task is to carefully analyse each equation and determine if it is true or false. Students will sharpen their understanding of the relationship between fractions and decimals by sorting the equations into the correct category.
  • Match Fractions and Decimals — This engaging matching activity challenges students to pair corresponding fractions and decimals. By dragging and dropping the correct pairs together, students will enhance their ability to recognise equivalent representations of numbers.
  • Decimal Fraction Line-Up — Students will practise placing decimals and fractions on a number line in this interactive activity. By accurately positioning each value, they will understand the relative size and position of fractions and decimals.

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your maths lessons.

In addition to individual student work time, use this interactive game to enhance learning through small groups, whole class lessons or remote learning assignments.

If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:

🆘 Support Struggling Students

For students who need additional support, consider providing them with a multiplication chart to help with basic maths facts. Additionally, encourage students to reference previous assignments, posters or anchor charts, reminding them of how to convert a fraction to a decimal and vice versa.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

For students who need an additional challenge, consider editing the numbers to include more challenging conversions.

Hi Jenny! This resource is to be used in 'Edit' mode rather than 'Presentation' mode. This way, students will be able to drag and drop items, type in text, etc. Hopefully this helps! :)
