Multiple genres: listening, speaking, reading, writing, and thinking using multiple texts--literary elements. The student recognizes and analyzes literary elements within and across increasingly complex traditional, contemporary, classical, and diverse literary texts. The student is expected to:
- (1) infer basic themes supported by text evidence;
- (A) explain the interactions of the characters and the changes they undergo;
- (B) analyze plot elements, including the rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution; and
- (C) explain the influence of the setting, including historical and cultural settings, on the plot.
