Find the percent of a number and compare the values with this standard practice worksheet.

Percent of a Number

Determining the percentage of a number is a math skill that we use quite frequently in our daily lives. This skill is most commonly used to determine discounts when shopping at our favorite clothing store or grocery shopping. It helps us determine the sale price of an item and could also lead us to where the “better deal” may be found. Teach Starter has created a standard practice worksheet for your students to practice calculating the percent of a number and comparing these values.

With this worksheet, students must calculate the percentage of 2 whole numbers and compare the values using <, >, or =. Additionally, students will solve two word problems using percent of a quantity comparison skills.

An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!

If there are students who need a bit of a challenge, students can create their own word problems that involve finding the percent of a number.

For students needing support, consider using the editable version and changing one example for each number to a whole number. This way, students only have to perform one calculation for each question rather than two.
