Learn how to find the LCM of a set of numbers with these doodle notes.

Let’s Practice Finding the Least Common Multiple!

We know that many kids love to draw, color, and doodle… and are still able to learn at the same time! Doodling helps students retain information, and these doodle notes will surely be a hit with your students! The goal of this math resource is to provide a set of notes for students to keep as a reference for finding the least common multiple, otherwise known as LCM.

This worksheet allows students to read and color the notes and try the provided examples. With teacher guidance, students can complete the fill-in-the-blank version of the notes and then color the page as much as they want. This provides a way for students to study the material and help them retain the information as they read and color.

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

In addition to independent student work time, use this worksheet as an activity for:

For students needing a challenge, provide questions with more complex number sets. Engage students in a discussion about when the least common multiple would be used in real life. Extend thinking to a discussion about divisibility rules, asking, “How can we tell if a number is a multiple of 2, 5, or 10?”

If there are students who need additional support, consider completing this activity in a small group or 1-on-1 setting. Additionally, invite students to review previous assignments, posters, or anchor charts.
