ABC's of Gratefulness

A worksheet to practice being grateful.

What is Gratitude?

Gratitude is all about focusing on what’s good in our lives and being thankful for what we have! It is about pausing to notice and appreciate the small things we often take for granted like the clean water we drink or the air we breathe. But most students struggle with this concept. They often spend more time reflecting on the things they don’t have rather than appreciating everything they do have. So how do we, as teachers, teach our students such an abstract skill?

How to Use This Resource in the Classroom:

This simple, yet valuable, resource is one way we can begin to have our students stop to notice some of the small things in their lives. Students will list something or someone they are grateful for that begins with each letter of the alphabet. Some of the letters might be tricky, but tell your students to be creative and “think outside the box”.

This resource is a great addition to any social-emotional learning lesson!

Looking for a more sustainable way to use this resource?

Why not print a class set on cardstock and slip each one inside of a dry-erase sleeve. Your students can use a dry-erase marker to create their list and wipe clean when they are done. Now your class set can be used again and again, year after year!

Use the drop-down menu to choose between the PDF or Google Slides version.
