📝 Check for Understanding with Exit Tickets

As a formative assessment tool, exit tickets allow teachers to measure how well their students comprehend the material they are learning in class. This tool can be used daily or weekly, depending on the unit taught. When the exit ticket is well-written, you can see whether students have a superficial or in-depth understanding of the material. Teachers can then use this data to adapt instruction to meet student’s needs the following day.

This particular exit ticket has students reflecting on:

  • 3 things they understand
  • 2 questions they’d like to ask
  • 1 thing they do not understand.

Use the information you have collected at the end of the lesson to determine what information needs to be reviewed at the start of the next lesson and what questions need to be answered!
