Telling the Time Games for Kids! 5 Min. Time

At Teach Starter, we understand the benefits of incorporating games into the maths classroom. Sometimes, students need a bit of competitiveness to bring some excitement into learning or reviewing a particular concept. Not only is it a great way to encourage active learning and critical thinking, but games can also be a way to reduce maths anxiety and give students the time and space to practise a skill in a fun way.

Teach Starter has created a set of printable time-telling games that your students can use in the classroom, take home to play with an adult or even use as an independent activity. This teacher-created resource comes with six different Telling Time dice games that can be used with Year 2 or 3 students needing to practise telling time to the nearest five-minute mark. Check out what is included in each version to find the perfect fit for your students!

  • Telling Time Roll and Write Dice Game
  • Telling Time Roll and Draw Dice Game
  • Telling Time Spin and Draw Game
  • Telling Time Spin and Cover Game (2 Versions)
  • Telling Time Tic-Tac-Toe

Playing Your New Telling Time Games for Kids

Implementing these games in your classroom is quick and easy. Simply find the version you want your students to work on and give them a die. Students will roll the die, follow the instructions and play through the activity on individual gameboards.

The editable version allows you to change the times and clocks to different increments so you can continue to create different versions to suit the needs of the students in your classroom.
