Read and Colour Possessive Nouns

Students identify possessive nouns in this simple worksheet. This is a great resource to reinforce understanding of the use of apostrophes to indicate possession.  Distinguishing between possessive nouns and plural nouns can be a tricky concept to grasp in English – but let this resource do the work for you! The worksheet is designed for individual practice.

To lighten what COULD be a boring exercise, students are required to first colour each word to show whether it is a possessive noun or not. A cloze exercise follows where students select words from the boxes to complete the sentences. An answer key is included to make life a little easier for you!

For those students who need an extra challenge, we have also provided a more difficult version. Here, students distinguish between singular possessive nouns, plural possessive nouns and plural nouns.
