Practising solving long division problems with this computation worksheet.

Are You Looking for Long Division Worksheets?

After students have practised how to divide with single-digit divisors, double-digit and multi-digit divisors are then introduced. Students may learn to tackle long-division problems with different strategies. Not only do they learn how to solve problems with the standard algorithm, but they also learn how to use box/area models, partial quotients, or the grid method. Teacher Starter has a worksheet you can use with your students when practising this important math skill.

With this worksheet, students will solve 16 long-division problems. Use this with students who need to extend beyond dividing numbers by single digits. You will find that the problems involve 4 and 5-digit dividends and 2 and 3-digit divisors. Ample space has been provided so students can have enough room to solve each problem.

Answer pages with working are included with your download to make marking fast and easy!

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

In addition to independent student work time, use this worksheet as an activity for:

  • Guided maths groups
  • Lesson warm-up
  • Lesson wrap-up
  • Fast finishers
  • Homework assignment
  • Whole-class review (via smartboard)

For students who need additional support, encourage them to create vertical skip counting lines with the divisor on the side of their paper when solving each problem. Additionally, provide a multiplication chart for students who need support with basic facts.
