Interactive Worksheet to Practise Knowlege of the Bar Model

This cut-and-paste worksheet has been designed to engage students actively in understanding the relationship between the bar model and an addition equation. This type of worksheet engages students actively by manipulating the strip diagrams, equations and answers to encourage tactile learning, enhancing comprehension and retention.

An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!

The Power of Strip Diagrams

Bar models, also known as strip diagrams or tape diagrams, are visual representations that help students grasp the relationship between quantities. These diagrams use rectangular bars to represent known and unknown quantities, highlighting their connections. By using strip diagrams to solve addition problems, students can better understand the structure of the addition problem, which in turn, enhances their problem-solving abilities.
