Helping Pupils Understand Their Boundaries

You know how important it is for your pupils to understand their own personal boundaries. Make this trick-to-navigate topic easier with these worksheets, designed to equip your pupils with the ability to identify and confidently express their comfort zones.

Interactive and Visually Engaging Boundary Setting

These worksheets are a great way to grow and develop your pupils’ awareness of personal boundaries and emotional intelligence. In an interactive and visually engaging way your students will learn to:

  • Identify and communicate their personal boundaries—an essential life skill!
  • Build confidence in managing their own relationships and interactions.
  • Enhance their social and emotional development.

You will be able to easily integrate this interactive activity into your existing social skills and health lesson plans, facilitate discussions on a sensitive topic in a non-intrusive way, and build a supportive and harmonious classroom environment where your pupils understand and respect each other’s personal boundaries.

Personal Space Activity Ideas for the Classroom

  • Personal space hula hoops – provide each pupil with a hula hoop and have them stand inside it. Explain the hula hoop represents their personal space.
  • Bubble blowing – have the children blow bubbles and observe how they can expand and touch each other, representing personal space boundaries – talk about what happens when the bubbles collide and how it relates to personal space.
  • Personal space collage – provide magazines, newspapers, etc., and ask children to create collages that show personal space. They can use pictures of people and objects that represent appropriate distances and physical boundaries.
