Build a WWII Timeline Activity

Through this activity, students will organize events relating to the events that led to the United States’ entry into World War II. Beginning with the initial events and invasions of Hitler’s army, this timeline worksheet takes students through the first declaration of war, Japanese invasions in Indochina, all the way through to Pearl Harbor and the U.S. declaration of war.

This timeline is a perfect activity for students to complete after a lesson on the events that led to the U.S. entering World War II. Students will cut apart a series of statements and paste them chronologically on the WWII timeline diagram.

Students can complete this activity as a summarizing or culminating activity or use it as a reference in an interactive notebook. You could also display this resource in your classroom for students to reference during your discussions around WWII.
