Let’s Stick with Kindness this World Kindness Day

On November 13 of each year, people around the world celebrate World Kindness Day. You can help teach your students about this special holiday and its meaning by holding a World Kindness Day lesson in your classroom.

Use this cactus-themed writing activity on World Kindness Day. Students complete the following sentence starter, ‘I stick with kindness because…’ and then decorate and color the rest of the template and stick it all together. This will create the most beautiful classroom bulletin board for World Kindness Day.

What is World Kindness Day?

World Kindness Day is a designated day to pause and consciously reflect on times when we have been shown kindness and think about ways in which we can treat others kindly.

✂️ Give Them the (Safety) Scissors

This template makes for a bonus cutting skills activity, depending on your students’ ages and abilities.

With adult supervision, cutting skills help students work multiple muscle groups and their brains, plus:

  • strengthen finger and hand muscles
  • build dexterity and fine motor skills
  • improve hand-eye coordination
  • develop focus and attention.

And all of these skills are necessary to use a pencil and a fork; button a shirt and tie shoes; write, type and swipe.

Scissor skills are brain and muscle skills!

Download & Print — It’s Child’s Play!

This resources is available to download in black and white – no need for a colour printer as students can let their creative juices flow and decorate the template themselves!

You might like to print this resource on card for added durability if you are going to use it for a classroom display.
