Water Cycle Interactive Activity for Kids

In this interactive activity, students will place an image of a cloud over the correct vocabulary for each image or description of the water cycle process. The following vocabulary words are used:

  • Evaporation
  • Precipitation
  • Condensation
  • Collection
  • Surface Water
  • Water vapor
  • Dam
  • Ground Water
  • Water Cycle
  • Ocean
  • River
  • Atmosphere
  • Aquifer
  • Man-made

Below-Level: Use only the picture cards and limit to the easier vocabulary choices.

Above Level: Use only the word cards (no pictures).

🛴 Scoot Activity

Place the printed book pages around the room in numerical order and assign students or pairs to a starting point. Depending on their abilities, students can use a numbered sheet of paper to record their answers or discuss with their partner which word belongs. Give students time to review the page and record their answers. Students will rotate to the next page when you say, “SCOOT!” Continue in this manner until students return to their starting point.
