Create the perfect Veteran’s Day bulletin board with a student-made Veteran’s Day writing and craft activity.

Create a Veterans Day Bulletin Board Display

You’re in the right place! We’ve been putting together some fantastic resources to guide your instruction surrounding U.S. patriotic holidays, including Veterans Day.

This Veterans Day Writing and Craft activity provides a fun, interactive way to help young students show their appreciation to veterans. The template provided has students writing a thank-you note to a veteran and assembling a soldier craft to hold their writing for display.

You could even display the Veterans Day crafts on your bulletin board and have your veterans come by to look at them or take them home as keepsakes.

Through this activity, students build skills in writing a friendly letter and understanding the meaning behind the Veterans Day holiday.

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your Social Studies lessons.

In addition to individual student work time, use this Veterans Day resource to enhance learning through guided writing groups, whole class lessons, or remote learning assignments.

If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:

🆘 Support Struggling Students

Provide struggling writers with sentence starters or sentence frames to help guide their writing.

Additionally, provide access to previous assignments, posters, and anchor charts for students to recall past lessons.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

Encourage your fast finishers to continue thanking veterans by making cards or other gifts for Veterans Day.
