Teach Starter Publishing
Google Slide, PDF | 1 page | Grades: 4 - 6

Craft a chronological timeline for students to model the progression of events during the Industrial Revolution.

Build an Industrial Revolution Timeline

Students will organize events during the Industrial Revolution in the United States through this activity. Beginning with the initial invention of the blast furnace in 1709, this timeline worksheet takes students through the creation of the cotton gin, the telegraph, and the steam engine.

This timeline is a perfect activity for students to complete after a lesson on the major innovations that were born during the Industrial Revolution. Students will cut apart a series of statements and paste them chronologically on the Industrial Revolution timeline diagram.

Students can complete this activity as a summarizing or culminating activity or use it as a reference in an interactive notebook. You could also display this resource in your classroom for students to reference during your discussions about the Industrial Revolution.
