Need activities for the Great Depression?  We’ve put together a low-prep, no-prep mini book and note-taking organizer to get your students on their way to understanding this historic event in American history.

Print Your Own Great Depression Books for Kids

This mini book is a fun and engaging way for your students to learn about this historic event in American history. This book is written at an elementary level and guides students through the landmark event using text, real-world images, and intermittent comprehension checks within the book. This booklet covers concepts including

  • The Stock Market Crash 
  • Failing Banks – & Bank Runs
  • The Dust Bowl
  • Soup Kitchens
  • Hoovervilles
  • The New Deal,
  • Alphabet Agencies,
  • Social Security.

Since the Great Depression is a content-heavy topic for your fourth and fifth graders, we’ve also included a Cloze-type guided note-taking graphic organizer for your students to summarize and note important information.
