Syllable Clip Cards

Teach Starter Publishing
PDF | 10 pages | Grades: PK - 1

A fun, hands-on activity to practice syllable recognition.

Use this teaching resource in the classroom when teaching syllables in spoken words.

This phonics activity is ideal to use in your reading small groups or as a reading center activity.

  • Print this resource on cardstock to ensure durability.
  • Cut along the dotted lines to create small activity cards.
  • Provide your students with the cards and a bucket of clothespins.
  • Students are to sound out each word, then clap to determine the number of syllables. When they have it, they clip a clothespin on the correct number. It’s a fun way to work on those fine motor skills while we are at it!
