Have students select words from the sort and write sentences to make a story. If students aren’t quite ready for sentence writing, they can write lists of other S-blend words.

Turn this activity into an assessment at the end of your lesson or right before a test to give students some extra practice. Project the Google Slides complete them in your guided reading group or as a whole class. Have students complete the sentence writing slide in their notebooks. (Google Slides users must be in Edit mode to move the pieces, not Presentation mode.)
