Roll Through Numbers 1 to 100

The ability to count to 100 is a HUGE math milestone for learners!

It’s all uphill from there. 😉

In this activity, students will reinforce this skill by taking turns rolling the dice and moving that many spaces, practicing the ability to count forward from any given number. As they take their turn, players color in squares on their 100 chart to show how many spaces they’ve moved.

Scaffolding + Extension Tips

Use this teaching resource in your math center as an independent practice activity.

Challenge students who quickly understand the concepts to determine how many spaces they still need to reach 100 as they play. This helps them comprehend the distance between numbers and operational skills like addition and subtraction.

Extend this activity by asking students to visually represent the numbers they land on using manipulatives or other items, like pom poms, beads, or BINGO chips.

If students are having difficulty counting from a given point on the board, use manipulatives to help them keep track as they count up.
