A fun, hands-on Halloween activity using a die and a chart to create a spooky scene to include in a narrative text!
Use this Halloween themed teaching resource to reinforce some of the concepts you have been learning in Visual Art (including foreground, background, and scale), or to create a scene for a Halloween narrative.
How to use this resource:
- Roll the die. Match the number rolled to a row on the chart, and see which feature is in the ‘1st Roll’ column. Draw it onto a blank piece of paper.
- Roll again. Match the number to a row on the chart, and see which feature is in the ‘2nd Roll’ column. Add this feature to your drawing.
- Continue in this same manner until your drawing is complete.
- Write a narrative that includes your spooky scene.
This resource works great as a writing center activity during the weeks leading up to Halloween.
