A fun, hands-on Groundhog Day activity using a die and a chart to create a narrative text.
Use this teaching resource to create a Groundhog Day narrative.
How to use this resource:
- Roll the die. Match the number rolled to a row on the chart, and see which story element is in the ‘1st Roll’ column. Write the element in the corresponding blank at the bottom of the page.
- Roll again. Match the number to a row on the chart, and see which story element is in the ‘2nd Roll’ column. Write this element in the corresponding blank at the bottom of the page.
- Continue in this same manner until you have all of the story elements.
- Write a narrative text that includes all of the story elements you have rolled.
This resource works great as a writing center activity.
