Science Vocabulary Words

Science vocabulary is an important part of understanding the many concepts presented. Students not only need to know the meaning of each word, but they need to know how to use the term contextually. Have you started to dive into your natural resources unit? In that case, Teach Starter has a vocabulary booklet that you can use to help your students organize and keep track of all the different vocabulary terms that may arise when learning about renewable and nonrenewable resources.

With this vocabulary booklet, there is a master vocabulary list as well as a page for each of the 10 vocabulary terms. Each page contains the term, a picture, and a space for students to write the definition and use it within their own original sentence.

This resource can be used as guided notes to fill in during a teacher-guided lesson or used as a small group station activity.

This resource is for students to practice and show their understanding of key vocabulary terms related to renewable and nonrenewable resources.

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your science lessons.

In addition to individual student work time, use this vocabulary booklet to enhance learning through guided science groups, whole class lessons, or remote learning assignments.

If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:

🆘 Support Struggling Students

If there are students who need additional support, limit the number of vocabulary terms to include in their booklet. Additionally, invite them to reference previous assignments, anchor charts, or posters to help them with their vocabulary book.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

For students who may need a bit of a challenge, consider using the editable version to remove all of the pictures. Students can then draw a picture of each vocabulary word in the space provided.

Easily Prepare This Resource for Your Students

Print the pages, cut them in half, and assemble them by stapling them along the left-hand side of the booklet.
