A set of 20 BINGO game boards and cards to practice recognizing and naming end punctuation.

Students will apply the correct missing punctuation to phrase cards in this 3-in-a-row BINGO game for up to 20 players.

Practice End Punctuation While You Play!

This resource is an engaging whole-group game to practice recognizing end punctuation. You can also make it part of your guided writing group practice, add it to your classroom writing center, or use it for a fun English Language Arts lesson warm-up.

Students will need BINGO counters to keep track of the words on their cards.

To play, students listen to the calling card, determine which end punctuation mark (period, exclamation point, or question mark) completes the sentence, and cover the punctuation mark if it appears on their BINGO board.

More Ways to Practice End Punctuation + Scaffolding and Extension Tips

This resource can be used for individual instruction, especially if you’ve got fast finishers! You can also use this game to create full-class learning opportunities like scoot activities, lesson reviews, comprehension assessments, and more.

If students are struggling with the content, refer them to a visual reminder like punctuation posters or an anchor chart.

Extend Game Play

In addition to 3-in-a-row, play alternate forms of BINGO like:

  • 4 Corners
  • Plus sign
  • Blackout
  • X out

Missing Punctuation Task Cards

Use the cards for this game as a separate activity that students can use on their own to identify the correct missing punctuation. Number the cards and ask students to number a piece of paper. Students go through the cards and write the punctuation mark as it corresponds to each card.

Easily Prepare This Resource for Your Students

Print on cardstock for added durability and longevity. Place all pieces in a folder or large envelope for easy access.
