Practice Finding the Perimeter of Rectangles

Before delving into the world of standard units, such as the customary system and the metric system, students can explore concepts such as perimeter and area using informal units such as squares. Perimeter Practice for 3rd and 4th Grade

There a multiple ways you might choose to use this resource to provide perimeter practice for your 3rd and 4th graders. Here are some ideas:

  1. Math Center Activity – Print the perimeter worksheets on cardstock, slip them into a dry erase sleeve, then use them as a math center activity. Students can record their answers with a whiteboard marker, then erase them for the next student to use.
  2. Class Warm-Up – Project the perimeter worksheets on your whiteboard and complete as a class for a warm-up or revision activity. Choose students to come to the board to write the correct answer in the space provided.
  3. Homework Task – Do you have some students who could use a little extra practice finding the perimeter of rectangles? These worksheets make the perfect take-home task for this very purpose!
