New Year’s Activities for Kindergarten? We’ve Got Those!

This set of vocabulary cards and accompanying writing worksheets is designed to help students make sense of the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day celebrations around the world.

Each vocabulary card contains a large-print, easy-to-read word and an image to aid retention. We have also included four accompanying worksheets to have students practice identifying the new vocabulary words and using them in their writing. You can display these on a bulletin board or in a pocket chart center for students to access during writer’s workshop.

Through this activity, students will show increased vocabulary and understanding of the New Year’s Day celebration in the United States.
