6th Grade Math Exit Tickets

How do you check if your students have mastered a particular skill? If you are looking for a simple and effective way to monitor student progress, check out this collection of exit tickets. This formative assessment method allows students to demonstrate mastery by completing only a few problems rather than a long worksheet. Use the information from these exit tickets to form your reteaching groups or determine if additional whole-class instruction is needed.

This collection of exit tickets covers the following concepts:

  • Dividing Multi-Digit Numbers
  • Prime Factorization
  • Least Common Multiple
  • Greatest Common Factor
  • Adding and Subtracting Decimals
  • Multiplying Decimals
  • Dividing With Decimals

Through this activity, students will show they can compute fluently with multi-digit numbers and find common factors and multiples.

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your math lessons.

In addition to individual student work time, use these exit tickets to enhance learning through guided math groups, whole class lessons, or remote learning assignments.

If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:

🆘 Support Struggling Students

Help students who need support by completing the exit tickets in a 1-on-1 setting or with a small group. Additionally, invite students to reference previous assignments, posters, or anchor charts to help them with this task.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

For students who need a bit of a challenge, encourage them to make an infographic or poster demonstrating how to solve a given problem type.

🛴 Scoot Activity

If you are looking for a culminating review activity, place the cards around the room and have students bring a notebook with them. Assign students or pairs to a starting point card. Give students time to review the card and record their answers on their paper. Students will rotate to the next card when you say, “SCOOT!” Continue in this manner until students return to their starting point.

🏃 Relay Race

Divide students into two team lines and show a flashcard to the students at the front of each line. The student that produces a correct answer first wins the card. The team with the most cards at the end of the game wins!
