MLK Character Traits Worksheet — Curriculum Goals

Students will independently complete this worksheet that supports your lesson on civil rights activist Martin Luther King, Jr.

After reading a biographical text on Dr. King, have your students identify six character traits that best describe him and provide evidence to justify their conclusions.

By completing this activity, students demonstrate an ability to describe the traits, motivations, or feelings of a person (historical or fictional), and explain how their activities contribute to a sequence of events.

Fast finishers can decorate their page with drawings to illustrate their thoughts.

How To Prepare This Resource

Please note this resource downloads as a black and white PDF. 

You can also turn this teaching resource into a sustainable activity! Print a few copies on cardstock and slip them into dry-erase sleeves. Students can record their answers with a dry-erase marker, then erase and reuse. 

Additionally, project the worksheet onto a screen and work through it as a class by having students record their answers in their notebooks.
