This writing craftivity can be paired with our other patriotic holiday resources, such as our Memorial Day Mini Book.

This Memorial Day activity combines the study of holidays with writing and has students writing about why this special day is celebrated. Accompanying this writing prompt is a fun craft where students can assemble a patriotic character. The templates provided include a variety of hair and clothing choices, as well as a patriotic hat.

Through this activity, students will demonstrate their ability to write in complete sentences to explain the significance of Memorial Day.
