A set of match-up cards to practice the addition strategy Making 10.
Use this resource when learning the addition strategy, Making 10.
Print off the resource on cardstock for added durability. Cut out the cards and store them in a resealable bag to be used again and again.
Students match the ten frame with the corresponding addition sentence. For more of a challenge, have your students play Memory with a partner. Turn the cards facedown in an array. Students take turns turning over two cards. If the cards match, they keep the cards. If they do not match, they turn the cards back over, and play is passed to the other player. The student with the most pairs at the end of the game wins.
This is a great math center activity for your students to practice Making 10.
