Are you looking for morning work or bell-ringer activities for your kindergarteners? Teach Starter has created a resource that will last all month long! This collection of worksheets is the perfect back-to-school resource for your kindergarten students for the month of August.

This morning work collection includes 23 days of morning work for the month of August and an optional title page (if creating a booklet). Students will complete various activities such as:

  • Number Formation
  • Identifying pictures that begin with a specific letter
  • Number recognition
  • Representing numbers
  • Color words
  • Calendar skills

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

In addition to independent student work time, use this worksheet as an activity for:

  • Guided math groups
  • Morning Work
  • Fast finishers
  • Homework assignment
  • Whole-class review (via smartboard)

If there are students who need a bit of a challenge, encourage them to represent numbers in a different way (such as tally marks), think of additional objects that begin with each letter, or think of different items with the same color as noted on their worksheet.

For students that need additional support, invite them to reference classroom anchor charts and posters. Additionally, students can complete these worksheets in a 1-on-1 setting or with a small group.
