Practice identifying fractions on a number line with an exciting game of Kaboom!

Free Fraction Games for 3rd Grade

How well can your students identify fractions on a number line? Do they need additional practice counting partitioned pieces to determine the total amount and the represented fraction? Teach Starter has designed an engaging Kaboom! Activity that your students can complete in small groups to sharpen their basic fraction skills.

This fraction activity is designed for easy storage and use. We’ve included a label for you to use to identify the game while stored in a cylindrical chip can.

Through this activity, students will practice identifying fractions on a number line.

How to Play our Kaboom! Fractions Game

To play, students will take turns drawing a card from the can and answering the question on the card. If the student can correctly identify the fraction marked by a star, they get to keep the card. If the student answers incorrectly, the card returns to the can. When a student draws a Kaboom card, all of the student’s earned cards go back into the container. The Kaboom card is then set to the side. Play continues until all of the question cards have been answered.
