Kindergarten Features of Print Activities for Guided Reading
Task cards are an effective way to practice early literacy skills and develop reading skills in a structured and organized fashion. This resource is designed for the primary reader, a reader who is experiencing the wonders of print for the first time.
Learners will be able to utilize these cards with any book, making them a versatile addition to your classroom collection. These task cards do not require students to write; instead, they simply complete each card by placing a sticky note or slip of paper over the print feature as it is discovered in the text.

- Completing the activity in a one-to-one or small group session.
- Pair students with a partner to complete the activity.
- Provide an example of each print feature and allow students to access an anchor chart or visual reminder of print features during the exercise.
