What is Diwali? For Kids!

Diwali is a five-day celebration that originated from the Indian subcontinent. It is one of the most popular festivals in India, and people from different communities celebrate it in various ways.

The festival is recognized for its unique symbol, the diya, an oil lamp. During the festival, people typically light multiple diyas to decorate their homes and surroundings. This custom has earned Diwali its nickname, “The Festival of Lights”.
