💰Counting Nickels Worksheet

Use this independent practice worksheet to support your money lesson.  Students will color the corresponding number of nickels for each amount given.

This math worksheet includes ten questions. Students will use their skip counting and addition skills to determine how many nickels are needed for each amount.

An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

In addition to independent student work time, use this worksheet as an activity for:

  • Math center activity
  • Lesson wrap-up
  • Early finishers
  • Homework assignment
  • Whole-class review (via smartboard)

For fast finishers, encourage students to create the same amount using different coins. Students may use a combination of quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies.

Support students who need additional help by completing the worksheet in a small group or 1:1 setting. Additionally, provide students with a skip counting line to help count by fives.
