Engage your students with a lively board game while practicing how to convert customary and metric units of length.

Convert Customary Units of Length (and Metric Too!)

Teach Starter has created a board game that features 36 playing cards and is designed to help students convert units of length (both metric and customary). Players use the cards to answer questions about converting lengths, and the first to reach the finish line wins. Questions include:

  • Standard conversion practice
  • Comparing measurements within the same system (i.e., Compare 9 m and 9 cm)
  • Yes or No questions
  • Word problems

The game can be played by individuals or small groups, making it a versatile tool for classroom use. The cards cover a wide range of conversion problems, ensuring that students will encounter and master all the key concepts. Whether you are looking for a fun way to practice measurement conversion during your unit or revisiting this topic during a review session, this board game will spark some friendly competition amongst your students while practicing how to convert different units of measurement.

The goal of this board game is to provide a fun and interactive way to practice and reinforce how to convert among different-sized standard measurement units within a given measurement system.
