How Do You Convert a Fraction to a Decimal?

The simplest way to convert a fraction to a decimal is to divide the numerator by the denominator. The quotient is then how this fraction can be expressed as a decimal. Students who need enrichment on this skill can draw models of the given decimals and fractions, including number lines. They can also be given more challenging fractions to work on afterward.    

If there are students who need additional support, invite them to reference previous assignments, posters, or anchor charts. Additionally, this activity can be completed in a 1-on-1 setting or with a small group.
