Christmas in Italy — Meet La Befana, the Christmas Witch!

In Italian folklore, La Befana is a Christmas witch who brings good children treats on the morning of the Epiphany, January 6. But if you were bad, look out – you may wake up to a lump of coal.

Introduce your students to Christmas traditions and cultures around the world with our Christmas Around the World printable activities. This Christmas craft can be used to teach students about different countries and their traditions, as well as how each country celebrates Christmas. The download includes a fun cut-and-assemble Christmas witch, La Befana, a well-known holiday figure in Italy.

DIY Italian Crafts for Kids – Christmas Around the World Ideas

The activity pairs well with our Christmas Around the World printable books, so you can use them at home or in the classroom to educate your children about other cultures’ celebrations this holiday season.

To use, students will first color and cut out the Christmas witch. Bend the curved portion of the template into a cone shape and glue it.  Finished La Befana crafts make perfect Christmas decorations for the classroom!
