Use this worksheet with your students when beginning to use the multiplication algorithm to solve problems with larger numbers.
Standard Multiplication Algorithm Strategy
Students work right to left, starting in the ones column and carrying any resulting tens across to the next column. They multiply the number in the tens column and then add any tens that have been carried over.
Word problems are also included at the bottom of the worksheet. Students must interpret what is being asked and use the vertical multiplication strategy to find the answers.
