Practice identifying the attributes of different 2D shapes with this 90-slide interactive PowerPoint.

Use this interactive PowerPoint presentation when teaching your students the attributes of 2-D shapes. The shapes included in this presentation are:

  • square
  • rectangle
  • triangle
  • pentagon
  • hexagon
  • octagon
  • rhombus
  • trapezoid
  • parallelogram
  • circle
  • kite

This powerpoint works great as a math warm-up each day during your geometry unit, as a math review before an upcoming test over 2-D shapes, or as a review before starting your geometry unit in middle school.

Students are lead through a series of slides showing the different attributes of each shape. Some of the attributes include:

  • number of sides
  • number of vertices
  • equal sides and angles
  • parallel sides and angles
  • lines of symmetry.

To activate the interactive functions on this PowerPoint, ensure that you have ‘enabled editing’ and are viewing the PowerPoint as a ‘Slide Show’.

Add new slides for any other 2-D shapes your class may cover using the editable function on the PowerPoint.

Please note:

  • we have included a PDF version of this resource, however it will not include the interactive functions that the PowerPoint version does.
  • this resource is a large file and may take extra time to download.
