Identify and match characteristics of good citizens with this vocabulary-building activity.

What Makes a Good Citizen?

There are many benefits to living in a society of ‘good citizens’. But what does it mean to be a good citizen? How do good citizens behave?

This matching activity requires students to match characteristics of good citizenship with the correct description. The characteristics included in the resource are: compassion, acceptance, dedicated, dependable, respectful, responsible, sincere, kindness, thoughtful, courage, honesty and patience.

Support Struggling Students

Help students who need additional support understanding the concepts by providing students with a dictionary to look up the definitions of any unfamiliar words.

Challenge Fast Finishers

Extend and challenge fast finishers by encouraging them to write a factual text about a time when they demonstrated one of the citizenship traits from the the match-up activity.
