Explore the World’s Continents and Oceans

Are you venturing on an adventure into World Geography with your students? Well, they will need to become familiar with the world’s continents and oceans!

This teaching presentation has been specifically designed to teach your students about the world’s seven continents and five oceans. It teaches students the names of the seven continents and five oceans, shows where they are located, and provides interesting facts about each one. It also teaches students about the equator and prime meridian.

This resource has been created with young students in mind! It is written in clear, age-appropriate language and contains colourful maps to help students locate each continent and ocean in the context of the rest of the world.

The presentation also includes quick check quizzes so you can assess your students’ level of understanding as new concepts are presented.

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your lessons on the world’s continents and oceans.

If you have a mixture of above- and below-level learners (and we’re sure you do!), check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:

🆘 Support Struggling Students

  • Pre-teach (or re-teach) key vocabulary to students to help them engage more successfully with the resource.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

  • Encourage fast finishers to apply their knowledge by labelling the continents and oceans on a blank map of the world.

I would like an Australian centered version of this resource.
